Popular GTA Pop Up Shops Will Not Open This Season
October 20, 2020 - RetroFestive Pop Culture & Christmas Store announced today that their highly anticipated Christmas pop up shops across the GTA, including their flagship store in Oakville, will not open for in person shopping for the 2020 season due to COVID-19. RetroFestive.ca will continue to operate as an online store and local customers are encouraged to show their support by shopping the RetroFestive website, with free 'warehouse pick-up' available in Oakville and shipping offered across Canada.
RetroFestive is a Canadian, family-run, Christmas business with one-of-a-kind and hard-to-find pop culture treasures for those who grew up in the 20th Century. They are well known across Canada after 12 years in business, and two appearances on CBC’s Dragon’s Den. Customers visit the RetroFestive warehouse store in Oakville by the thousands each Christmas season, in addition to their pop-up shops at the Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto Christmas Market, Burlington Centre, and Erin Mills Town Centre.
“Our store often sees shoulder-to-shoulder crowds in the weeks leading up to Christmas,” said Tyler Schwartz, Chief Cheermeister at RetroFestive. “We just aren’t able to do that in these times of social distancing. Although we will miss the customers who make an annual pilgrimage to our Oakville store, they can still check off their Christmas lists at our online store, while also supporting our local business.”
RetroFestive.ca is encouraging customers to shop early in preparation for a Cozy Covid Christmas. The store has already stocked up on seasonal essentials, including a line of matching Family Jammies, a huge selection of Pop Culture Puzzles and Board Games, and a collection of Personalised Pandemic Ornaments, adorned with toilet paper and face masks.
Founded in 2007 by Tyler and Jordie Schwartz, RetroFestive makes you feel like a kid at Christmas again! Each year RetroFestive ships to over 30,000 customers across Canada, and hosts 10,000 shoppers from the GTA at their seasonal flagship store in Oakville, Ontario.
